This is the 1st time I'm doing a garage sale, What did you put on the signs around the neighborhood beside your address?

arrows on the sign showing where to turn
clear, big bold letters with date/time
and please take them down after the sale.. there's nothing more annoying than seeing old garage sale signs

.. and don't just put "Today".... it's very annoying seeing a sign on a telephone pole for "Garage sale Today!" for 2 or 3 weeks.... 
It's better to have less info, but bigger font, so people can read it as they drive by.
If they see "Garage Sale", the date and the address with arrows, they'll stop by and see what's there.

use the same (bold) color poster board for all your signs so people can follow them
