Re: gap's warmest coat for boys

I had always heard great things about this coat so I purchased it last year for my then 14 month old (purchased size 18-24 months).

I was really disappointed with the coat and he hated it! The inside of the sleeve tore (i think it came like that) and so his little hand would get stuck all the time while putting it on. Or his fingers would get caught in loose threads.

I got it with a great discount last year for about $32 and I would have gladly paid more for another coat. I'll be checking out NorthFace this year for my soon to be 2 year old.

Re: gap's warmest coat for boys

We had the warmest coat from two years ago and it fit DS both two years ago and last year. I really loved it and plan on getting it again for him. I saw the same sale and think I am going to pick it up. I will say that it does cost more this year than the last two years. Also they used to give 40% off at about this time but I guess it is 35% now.

ETA: I think it sells out in the navy blue pretty quickly. I actually wanted to get one last year in late September but it was completely sold out on line and in my local stores. I then found out that I could extend the sleeves so it fit a bit longer. I did hear complaints last year about the quality. I ordered it just now for both DS and DD if I don't love it I can return it.

I got it for DD last year & was a bit hesitant as we always got Lands End squall jackets. It lasted all year; was super warm & will still fit her this year. She was 3.

I got one for my first son a few years ago. He used it for 2 years, and it even lasted for my second son to use and stayed in great shape.

I have 2 boys and they have been basically buying that coat for about 5-6 yrs. I have had no issues and obviously like it. My boys are big and usually wear about the size they are in GAP at that time. When they are 2 - wore 3T, 3 a 4T, etc.

The only reason I am not getting it this year is because they didn't make the hood detachable. The hood becomes heavy and I feel the jacket pulls up. I did order a bigger size and it did last 2 years when i got it for my kids.
