Galaxy S2 vs. Iphone 4S
I was dead set on getting the Iphone 4S until yesterday. My mom got the Galaxy S2 and it is so awesome. Anyone have any advice on one over the other? We have Sprint. I already have an Android phone, and I have no other Apple products (gave my ipod to my son).
All the research I've been doing really puts them neck and neck. Help!

I don't have either one of these phones but I voted android because I have have had an iphone in the past and I have an android phone now and I would not go back to the iphone. It depends on what you are looking for in a phone though.

If you want basic to the point phone, iPhone.
If you want the ability to have custom look, feel about the phone - go android.
Both phones do the same thing. Androids have been regarded to be faster. They have mostly similar apps for the most part.

Have to disagree. S2 may have a faster processor spec wise, but Apple's integration between iOS and a single hardware platform leads to a faster user experience. Apple can pull more from it's processor since the software is so tightly integrated with the hardware.
4s IMO has the better still camera, better movie camera, better screen (size does not equal quality), and better shape/feel (lack of the "plastic" feel of Android).
You can achieve the same level of customization on iphone with jailbreaking.

i dont agree with camera ...I had an evo and now have a 4s ...my camera on my evo was way way way better

I am not sure how you can say that when the 4s camera has a better lens, higher resolution still, and 1080p video recording.
Even every professional review I have read basically says the 4s camera blows the Evo out of the water.

i could of posted more but didn't want to get crazy technical as at the end of the day its a phone and they both operate fast.
i live in an android house and tomorrow should be rocking a razr maxx.

You can customize your iphone out of the box. You make it sound like you can't.

Like I said we could argue all day, and I am NOWHERE near a techy genius.
Unless they have changed their policy since I last had my iphone (and it's a possibility) they app guidelines state (and I am not going to quote because I am not aware of the correct verbage) that one app cannot affect another app.
So if I want to, say, customize my text screen with different fonts, a background, etc., apart from what apple offers its not possible because any customization would be affecting the texting program itself. To do that on an iphone you would have to jailbreak. That is not the case on android. I have all of the above and then some and I haven't had to root my phone once.
When I had my iphone I had it on tmobile and it was unlocked and jailbroken and I got tired of trying to keep up with all the crap I had to do just to get my iphone how I wanted it.
Of course this is, most likely, NONE of the stuff the OP was interested in hearing.

It depends on what you are looking for in a phone though.
I agree. I just got the Droid 4 because i need a keyboard and I LOVE the LED alert light that lets me know if i have a new txt or email. Honestly, it was the LED alert light more than anything else, i just love that feature. Yes, I know there’s an app that can make your iphone camera flash but its not the same, it's bright & its not continuous, I like my tiny little blue LED light that blinks when I have a new txt or email until I check it.
