Gaining weight
I knew I'd gain weight once I was pregnant, just never thought it would happen before the fact!!!
I weighed myself this morning. It may not be a big deal to others, but since getting off BCP last year, I'm up 15 pounds. None of my doctors, acupuncturist, etc seeem concerned. I only wear dresses because none of my pants fit and I refuse to buy new clothes. I didnt even weigh myself when I was doing the stims last month because I was so bloated.
I'm not overweight (yet lol) but I am definitely on my way there. I wonder if the weight gain is negatively affecting my already wonky hormones (I know its true that my hormones are affecting my weight).
I dont exercise, but I'm relatively active. I am becoming an emotional eater lately, but that said, its not like I eat really unhealthy food. I eat super healthy all day then have ice cream at night. I dont think that's really abnormal. In my past life (prePCOS/IF) I would never gain weight like this.
Just add it to the list of my many failures this and every month.
Sorry not sure if this is a vent or what, but thanks for listening

Re: Gaining weight
I am in the same boat... I'm up about 15lbs from when I started I've been so focused on the goal here that I just stopped caring as much. I never thought I'd be that way... but there's just so much else to focus on these days.
For a long time, I was too "proud" to go up a pants size. Instead, I'd wear my maternity pants that I had from when I was pregnant. I don't know WHY that seemed like e better plan to me but I was just so opposed to getting the next size up. Well. ... finally I caved, and I'm so much more comfortable. I figure they'll be good for after the baby too since I know I won't be automatically back into a size 4 then either.
I had to shift the styles I was used to buying.. sometimes I'd try something on thinking it would look good just to find it was good on my "old" body... but not my new one. I just keep telling myself that after the baby I'll get serious about getting back into shape.
Until then.. I need my comfort food
Just know you're not alone!!!

Ack, sorry you're going thru it too. Does the doctor seem concerned at all?

No, honestly I know a lot of it is from the meds... I already noticed my face is more bloated in the last couple of weeks since I started prednisone.
I mentioned to him a while ago that I was concerned I never lost the weight from the pregnancy (the one last year) and he said it was very normal.
I know you're not in that same situation- but still, I know that weight gain in this process is totally normal!!

Re: Gaining weight
I feel the same way as both of you! After my m/c last summer I was depressed and stopped working out, then just as I was getting better, I got sick and couldn't work out. Then the IF treatments started and were unsuccessful and I stopped working out. All in all, I'm up 10lbs and in much worse shape than ever. I started losing weight three weeks ago (down 2.5 lbs) but started injections last night so wondering how that will affect the weight loss. Just hoping to be preggo soon!!!

Re: Gaining weight
i gained weight... but i think it was due to my eating whatever i wanted and drinking like a fish
once i ot on the scale and realized that i was 8 lbs up, that was a big wakeup call to me.
i immediately cut my drinknig from 1-2 glasses of wine a day to 1-2 glasses a week.
i also changed what i was eating- making healthier decisions.
not sure if ive lost all the weight- its only been about 2 weeks- but i already feel so much better and healthier - and i hope by shedding all the drinks and extra calories that those pounds will fall off
