FYI for those voting tomorrow for 17th District State Assembly (Merrick, Bellmore, E. Meadow, Garden City, etc.)
The candidates are John Pinto and Tom KcKevitt. John Pinto (Dem.) has served as the Trustee of the N.Merrick Board of Education for several years and in the past few years N. Merrick school taxes have increased 89%  Thought you might want to take this into consideration when voting!
(The 17th district includes the communities of East Meadow, East Williston, Floral Park, North Bellmore, North Merrick, Willston Park and portions of Albertson, Carle Place, Garden City, Garden City Park, Merrick, Mineola, New Hyde Park, Roosevelt, Uniondale and Westbury).

I don't live in his district, but I do work in it and have met Tom a few times. He's a big supporter of libraries, and if I was able to vote for him, I would!

Congrats to him. He has worked hard for this and you have been a campaign "widow" for too long.
I wish Tom more success and that he gets more time with Connor soon!

Did some research before the election, and I voted for him - congrats!
I walked to the polls that night and saw many houses with his name on their lawn!

I love to see people care about state and local politics. It doesn't get anywhere near the coverage of national elections yet affects so much of our everyday lives.
