Furniture- where did you go?
We went to Bobs, Raymour, Ashley and Jennifer looking for furnishings for the house... I wasn't really impressed with Bobs (at all) and Raymour is really nice but I would like to see more options... can you reco any places?

try Bassett on 110. we just bought a few things from there and they design it with you so there's a lot more options than what they have in the showroom.

I actually really like Raymour... the place is huge, I think they have alot to choose from.
Not impressed with Bobs at all.

We got our sofas from Out of the Box in Islip Terrace.
You can pick from any style sofa, any style fabric. LOVE them!!!

I found nothing on RT110 i went to every single store multiple times, nothing was what we were looking for
All our furniture is from a mix of places

Ashley's in Carle Place near the mall. I heard they have a bigger showroom then on Rt 110. We got our furniture from there and have been very happy.

Ashley furniture is nice than I though. I thought it was a Bob's type of store (discount) but it's more on par with Basset and Raymour.
that being said, our furniture is a mix
Macy's (sofas, chairs)
Door Store (pull out sofa bed-great!)
Ballard Design-chairs, artwork, trundle bed
Overstock-bed in master, a few odds and ends
Crate and Barrel- living room table (endless kitchen stuff), patio set
Gothic Cabinet Craft- shelving and desk in den, full sized bed in guest room
Ikea- desk chair and outdoor chairs
we are currently contemplating a dresser purchase from ethan allen.
we also got some great finds at antique shops. great prices for REAL wood. beautiful stuff and since our house is 200 years old, it all fits in nicely!

I got my couches from Jennifer Convertibles. I do NOT suggest them at all! Terrible customer service and nothing but issues.

I agree with the antique shops also yard sales/estate sales. Being that we got married so young and I have a mountain of student loan debt getting all new furniture was out of the question when furnishing our home. It was overwhelming because coming from your parents to a home you need a lot. My style is Pottery Barn and I was def able to furnish my home completely in that style by going to antique sales and whatnot. I also live in a really old home, an old bungalow so I like that style.
