furniture question?
I know people have posted about ordering furniture at 20-25 weeks right?
What's the opinion on waiting until after the baby shower and using any cash you get towards nursery furniture?
I know my sister was gifted a crib from her inlaws and given the check@her shower. Is that too late though to get everything?

Re: furniture question?
I say that is fine! Do you want your furniture from BRU or BBB? If so put it on your registry! I think it is fine to wait and I dont think it takes that long to come in…maybe 6-8 weeks? Will you keep the baby in your room for the first few months?

I would pick out the furniture, find out if they have it in stock and if not how long it takes to come in. Ours takes 8-12 weeks which wouldn't work for us to wait until after the shower b/c I'll be 32w.

We had DD sleeping in the rock n play in our room for months before she moved into her room (it's good to have a nb in your room anyway because it helps regulate their breathing and is one of the many theoretically "helps against SIDS" things) so that plan would've worked for us. If you want the baby's room set up in advance, you probably won't get the furniture in time if you wait that long.

Re: furniture question?
Usually the baby sleeps with you in your room for a few months so it's not a bad idea to wait and use gift cards. I was told furniture took awhile to come in. Mine came in two weeks. But I was told 6-8 weeks or more is typical

Re: furniture question?
Depends on where you order from and what you're getting. My furniture was in stock at BRU and we picked it up that week. My glider took almost 3 months from BBB b/c it was a custom job. A place like Behrs can take longer. That said, DD was in our room for four months and her nursery was for decoration and storage lol.

Pick out what you want and find out if it's in stock. That's the biggest issue. We had to order a piece for ours and it said 8-14 weeks.

i agree. as long as you don't mind the potential of the nursery not being ready before your baby's arrival, it's totally fine.
