Funny of the day
Ah, and so it begins...
Today we started our writing prompt to see what the kids know so far.
The prompt is like this : You walk into your classroom, in the center is a large wooden chest, tell where it came from, what was in it, etc, etc.
So, one of my second language learners (he's got conversational language down, but academic is really only so-so), is at his seat with this look of confusion on his face, while also kind of laughing. One of our IA's speaks to him in Spanish, and then goes over to him with a dictionary. Afterward, she comes up to me almost crying from trying to keep in her laughter...
Apparently he though there was a large wooden CHEST, as in breasts, in the center of the room and was utterly confused as to why they was wooden, and why they were in the center of the room.
ahh, pure esol confusion.
