I tried google-ing...how many grams of fat is recommended for good brain development?
DS is off dairy. The ped recommended that we give him goat milk. I can special order it by the case, but I have him on rice & oat milk in the meantime. After being on the alternative milks for a week she voices a minor concern about being on it long term b/c she does not think there is enough fat per serving. I asked her how much & she told me 7 grams per serving. But with all the other foods he eats, he is getting fat. So I do not want to call their service about this, and I could not find any answers on google.
So does anyone know how many fat grams per day a 1 yr old should ingest?
  TIA

Re: I tried google-ing...how many grams of fat is recommended for good brain development?
It doesn't say 'grams' - but I found this:
  1-3 years old 45-65% (Carbohydrate)5-20%(Protein 30-40% (Fat) 25% or less (Sugars)
4-18 years old 45-65%(Carb)10-30% (Protein) 25-35% (Fat) 25% or less (Sugars)
I guess it's more about the ratio than the actual AMOUNT of fat - based on what I have read.
  ETA: I found this formula:
To figure 30% of the calories in grams of fat, multiply the calories by .30 and divide the product by 9 (there are 9 calories in 1 gram of fat). So if you are the average woman who consumes 1800 calories per day, only 540 calories should come from fat.
