Siding and shutter color combo...
What color combo do you have? Do you have pics? Right now ours is gray and blue, but we may change it after constuction.

Our house used to be brick with ugly white shutters. After construction, we did grey siding with cranberry shutters. Here's a before/after pic:

Our siding is cream and the shutters and doors are forest green. This is a pic from when we bought it last year. We cleaned the siding and painted the shutters since, so it now looks better than this but I don't have recents pics.
We will change it in a few years and go back to the original clapboard look. Then I would like to do white with black shutters. Image Attachment(s):

I agree, the house is beautiful but I love brick too and it brings up the value of your home too, thats what an RE lawyer told us.

If you saw the brick up close...it looks so old. So many cracks and paint all over. Since we were basically redoing the whole house...we thought that siding would give the whole thing a face-lift, rather than just look like we made an addition.

for me, it depends on the house and the setting...
one of my favorite houses in my area has a really nice dark blue on blue combo. it wouldn't look nice everywhere, but somehow with that house it just fits!

Our house is part red brick and part white siding. Our shutters are a faded color similar to the brick. We want to change them to navy blue and keep the siding white.

Right now we have white siding with black shutters. When we re-do our siding this year, we are doing a dark tan siding with burgundy shutters. I can't wait!
