 | Re: Books? For DH: 1 -She's having a baby and I'm having a meltdown!
 2 - The expectant father

 For you:
 1- Girlfriends guide to Pregnancy
 2- Baby Laughs
IMHO...I would not get "what to expect" because it freaked me out. HAlf of the book talks about all of the things that can go wrong in pregnancy and birth. After reading it I did not sleep for two nights, and came into my first OB appointment practically crying and totally freaked out. The book had convinced me for weeks that I would miscarry.

 | Re: Books? I actually have to say I love "what to expect"..i thought it was very to the point and offered a ton of advice. It didn't scare me at all and i found it so helpful. But some people don't love it...
Another book I have is "the pregnancy bible" and it has pictures week by week of the baby as well as your body as it changes. I thought it was good! The Jenny McCarthy book is hilarious, but prob scared me more than the others!! She speaks the absolute truth, good and bad!

I just ordered this, my friend recommended it to me. I have what to expect now, but hardly read it, I feel it is all just people asking questions.

 | Re: Books? I read Belly Laughs by jenny McCarthy and it was good - but I might recommend taking it out of the library, you don't really "need" a copy of it - at least in my opinion.
We also got the set "What to Expect when you are expecting" and "what to expect in the first year" from BJ's - its 20.00 right now but honestly we haven't read them yet.

I borrowed the Anxious Parent's Guide to Pregnancy and read it but it freaked me out with all the things that can go wrong and I didn't love it....thats just me....

My ob/gyn gave us a book as well when I becem pregnant that is wirrten by the American Obstetrics Association (or something like that) and I read that one as well and found it helpful.

Mostly I got a lot of info online too!

 | Re: Books? I have this and I love it:"The Pregnancy Journal; A Day-To-Day Guide to a Healthy and Happy Pregnancy"

I also have "The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy". It's funny, although her whole chapter about exercise and how you shouldn't bother doing it because you're going to get fat and ugly anyway really ticked me off
But otherwise it's a cute book.
