would it be too much to get another puppy this summer when I am 8 months preggers??
Louie will be over a yr (he's our puppy but shhh...he thinks he is our son!  ) then but part of me thinks it might be too hard on me...

This is how I would think of it.
8 months pregnant - when the dog piddles on the floor - are you going to bend down or even get down on the floor to clean it up.
Quite honestly, I think getting on the floor will be no problem, it is the getting back up.
You will need to have alot of patience for a puppy while 8 months pregnant - it is going to be a little hard, my patience has almost run out.
ok - and next when your baby is a couple of months old, do you still want to be training a puppy to be going to the bathroom outside.
This is all coming from someone that is 36 weeks along in my pregnancy, I would probably not do it.
But you will have to look at the pros and cons and also realize you will not know how you feel in your 8th month

I think that if your DH really agrees to help out than it wouldn't be that bad. but then again maybe it would be better to wait a little until after the baby is born.

Having just had puppies, I would think it would be a lot to handle so far along in your pregnancy. JMHO

I would wait. Puppies need a lot of attention. With a new baby and another dog... well, it really wouldn't be fair to him/her.
After the baby is born and things are more controlled, you might want to look into adopting or rescuing a young adult dog or adult dog. They come housebroken and are easier then puppies.
IMO, I wouldn't for a long while. Louie is going to be stressed out as it is, and the baby is going to need a lot of attention.
