 Quick formula help needed!
So I had started supplementing BF'ing w/ gentlease - he had that for about 1 mo but showed no interest in the bottle so I switched to nestle goodstart. He had that for 1 week (stopped on Tuesday) and was spitting up (AR) like crazy on it. Went back to the gentlease wed and thur and just in his cereal today but he's not taking the bottle again. I went and bought Enfamil AR (for the reflux) and want to try that tonight for his bedtime bottle. Do you think I'm switching around too much? Should I wait to try the AR?

 Re: Quick formula help needed!
why don't you pump and give the baby bm in a bottle instead of formula, since he only has trouble on the formula?? It does seem like you are switching around too much - but I'm no expert on formula.

Can DH give him the bottle and you leave the room? If he sees you he probably wants the boob.

I think your switching formula's too much. My doctor said that even switching between powder and RTU ca cause gas/spit up, etc. We had a lot of problems finding the right formula so I feel your pain!

 Re: Quick formula help needed!
you are absolutely changing too much. It takes 3 days to 2 weeks for a babies system to adjust to a new formula.

Wow! I didn't know that! I was using RTF and powder w/ the goodstart! Maybe that's what was causing the spit up??? Good to know!

Alex spit up a LOT w/ the RTF Good Start, but does much better on the powder version.

Really? I did not know this.....and I bought a bunch of RTF To take on our weekend trip to Maryland cuz I thought it'd be easier to deal with than making powder bottles

 Re: Quick formula help needed!
Well I didn't give him the AR last night - I just nursed him. I'm going to try the goodstart again - just the powder. I'll start out slow in just his cereal and then increase it tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!!!
