 | Help!! New job question Ok, I've already been hired for this new job that starts on Monday. The company sent me the overview packet, which includes a bunch of forms and info about my benefits programs.
Well, I was severely underpaid at my last job, so I exaggerated my salary. I just opened the packet to look at the forms, and one of the forms is a
"compensation verification" form...saying that I will need to provide a paystub from my last job.

Um..yeah...now I'm a bit scared. What do I do? I was already hired. I make $10,000 less than what I told them I make....

Yeah seriously that doesn't sound right. Are you sure it's required to offer that kind of info?

 Good luck

 | Re: Help!! New job question I started a new job 2 months ago and there is still stuff I have that I have not submitted.
And-- for the record, I never ever have had to submit a form like that. Wait til you go through orientation or someting and see what that's all about.

 | Re: Help!! New job question I have never heard of that either. Does it really matter what you made at your last job? they should pay you what they think you deserve for this job, not based on a different company's payscale.
 I would "lose" that one.

I would say that you were given bonuses or gifts that were not included in your pay. What are they going to do, call your old company?

I'm in HR. They can ask -which is why I said to fudge & say benefits. Bonus & OT would be on a W-2. Our company benefits can be transitcheck, parking reimbursement (up to $200/mo), health insurance, RX, medical, etc.

Do you think this is really right? I work for the state and my benefits are equivalent to over $20,000 with retirement, health, etc--can I really say I make $20,000 more than I do?
