 Wow, there are a ton of homes under 300k now in suffolk 
I eliminated 6 or 7 school districts from my search, selected 3 bedrooms or more & still came up with over 400 homes!!!! Granted many of them need to be completely gutted, but many of them would make GREAT starters or investments. Good luck to everyone that is still looking!

i wish DH and I had the $$ to buy an investment property - prices are lower and rates are still low.  
  hopefully more people can buy houses on LI now!!

  I'm going to see one that I found this morning when DH gets home. The numbers are finally starting to jive to keep houses as rentals. A little lower & you'd actually have positive cash flow.
  There are homes in half hollow hills school district, East Islip, houses south of montauk in W.Islip, one or two in Miller place school district. Its crazy. Not to mention how many that are less than 300k & on almost an acre!!!!!
  This is a great time to buy a fixer!
