 Doctor's office vent...UPDATE-my visit today
I've been having some really bad cramping these past few days, so I figured that I'd make an appointment and get checked out for the piece of mind. The secretary gave me an attitude and asked if I was "sure that I really needed to be seen?" I told her it was probably okay, but I'd rather have the piece of mind and she continued to try to talk me out of making the appointment. This isn't the first time these secretary's have been rude and acted like my problems weren't a big deal at all. Last pregnancy, when I developed Cholestasis, I had a heck of a time getting an appointment with them. Finally I convinced them that I needed to be seen and it turned out that it was much bigger than I even thought. It's so frustrating. Does anybody else have problems like this or am I just going to a crappy office?
  UPDATE 7/13:
Well, I went and it turns out I have a bladder infection and I'm on antibiotics now. I'm glad I stuck my ground and made sure to get an appointment. It only would've gotten worse and worse. I'm just glad I'm not crazy

 Re: Doctor's office vent...
Sounds like you need a new doctor. I would call back and insist on an appt.

Oh, I did get one, after 5 minutes of convincing that I needed it. She really made me feel like crap though. It shouldn't be so hard to be seen. I don't think a doctor's office should ever try to convince you that you DON'T need an appointment. It's a little late in the game to switch now though. I should've learned my lesson from the first time around.

That stinks! When you go for your visit, make sure you let your doctor know how his front people are treating his patients. Sometimes they are not aware of the rudeness that goes on in front. If he/she is unresponsive or gets rude, change your dr, even if you don't plan on having any more babies.

I am sorry for the rudeness. I honestly have a great OB and he has a wonderful staff!

 Re: Doctor's office vent...
I also go to a maternal and fetal medicine specialist (because of the cholestasis in the first pregnancy). I LOVE that office, but I'm not sure if they take appointments for issues like this. I've only gone for standard check-ups. I wonder if they'd see me...

Glad they found the problem. I hope you let that secretary know that if you listened to her dumb advice you could have been in serious trouble!!!

Re: Doctor's office vent...UPDATE-my visit today
Thanks ladies! The secretary that gave me the problem wasn't there (naturally! ), but I did mention it to my doctor and he wasn't happy.
