 Moving out of state
My DH and I are pretty sure that we are moving to VA. I know I have posted b/4 about moving but we are scared. We are afraid that we wont like it once we are there & we are wondering if we should spend more time in the area. For the people who have moved how much time did you spend in the area b/4 you decided?

 Re: Moving out of state
I was originally from VA, and spent every summer there with my dad... so i had spent a lot of time.
I absolutly love Virginia. I'm living in the Shenandoah Valley right now, and I think it's absolutly beautiful - though we're moving next year since DH couldn't get an internship in the area. I would stay in a heartbeat as long as we we're moving toward one of the valley's 'cities.'
I could understand being nervous about leaving, but you need to remember that if you move to the dc area, it's really not too far from NY - close enough to be able to make weekend trips if you need to

 Re: Moving out of state
I had spent a few weeks in Orlando as a child. Other than that...I came in cold.

Same here, except it was AZ. I came here a couple of times to visit my parents and that's it. Actually, we decided to move on a day that we were digging my car out of 2 feet of snow. BF looked at me and said "that's it, we're moving!"

I think honestly, you are never really going to know unless you just go for it.

 Re: Moving out of state
I spent about 7 years coming to Bethlehem, PA before I moved here. My sister moved here around 7 years ago and we were visiting her here quite often...so, I knew the area pretty well and knew that this is where we wanted to live. I guess I was lucky to have the opportunity to familiarize myself with this city before I moved.

 Re: Moving out of state
We relocated for my husband's new job so we didn't spend much time here at all. We spent 3 days and found a house We saw a bunch of homes with a really good agent and with his help and our driving around we decided on the location.
