 Girl vs. Woman
When do you stop referring to a female as a "girl" and use "woman"? I always want to say girl, because I feel like a woman is so much older and sounds so much more formal. I have no idea! What do you say and when do you say each one?

 Re: Girl vs. Woman
Girl - very young (under 18) or to women I know.
Lady is a word I use ALL of the time - I may use it for young girls to make them feel more grown up but I also use it interchangibly with woman. Does that make sense? I know what you mean about woman sounding more formal. I call myself a girl even though I'm 27.

 Re: Girl vs. Woman
I think it depends how are you are-- I consider myself a girl and refer to people in my age range girls, and probably always will. People in my mother's age range for example- are women.

 Re: Girl vs. Woman
In my eyes I'm still a girl. I'm in denial about getting older. I refer to everyone as girls not women.
