 | Which comes first, part#2? Which comes first? Should we pick out a comforter set first, then pick out paint to match it OR should we pick paint THEN find a comforter set!!! |

 | Re: Which comes first, part#2? I'd say comforter, then paint
but if you're like me, you'll have more than one comforter/duvet, so you may want to stay fairly neutral with the paint.

 | Re: Which comes first, part#2? Definitely comforter first. It will be harder to find a comforter you like than a wall color to go with it. |

 | Re: Which comes first, part#2? Comforter... always pick out your fabrics, a patterned rug, a patterned couch and work from there.
You can find a paint color to match any comforter set but not the other way around.

Professional decorator usually start with an inspiration piece (a pillow, a rug, a painting) and then chose the elements of the room around that.

 | Re: Which comes first, part#2? we couldnt find anything we liked... so we went with paint first... it has helped to narrow down our search for a comforter, because now we know exactly what we are looking to match it to... |

I had the same question....and I have yet to begin the comforter search! I've looked online and can't find anything I like...I guess I'll have to hit the stores and find one so we can pick paint colors.

 | Re: Which comes first, part#2? We chose paint color first, which is pretty neutral anyway. Come to think of it, our sheets, comforter, etc. are all neutrals too! |

 | Re: Which comes first, part#2? We did paint and then a comforter and I would recommend to NEVER do it like that. It was so hard. Everything I liked didn't match. It was so hard. I had to go with something very neutral. It looks nice now, but not what I wanted.
When we dormer the front of the house, we will redo our bdrm and then I am going to do it totally different.

Use the comfortor to inspire your paint palette.

 | Re: Which comes first, part#2? It is so funny how one question with two options inspires answers and reasons with it for both options. We are going to Fortunoff and Macys to pick something. |
