I would think so. My understanding is that once they have the check drawn at the bank, the money is removed from their account.

Yes, it's guaranteed b/c the person getting it has to put the money forth immediately.
Works like a money order.

Don't accept bank checks from anyone you don't know. They can be forged and you will be left with nothing. Craig's list is one of the places I found this out.
