 Crib Mattress
Yesterday I was in BBB and ordered my nursery furniture. They showed me some crib mattresses that were extremely expensive. Does anyone have a recommendation of the best mattress to get or what you spent on yours?? Thanks

 Re: Crib Mattress
i need to know this info as well, i have been putting this off because i don't know what to get!
i was initially leaning towards a colgate mattress in the $100 range, but can't decide between a coil or foam. the foam we saw in belini was just way too hard for my taste. also, the mattresses they were selling there were way over $100.

 Re: Crib Mattress
We got the Serta Perfect Sleeper Mattress at BRU. It was $129.99. It has a fire blocker thing on it and one side is a infant mattress and you flip it over and the other side is a toddler mattress. We felt is was worth the extra $$. We would have bought a tempurpedic if they made them for infants. We sleep on a tempurpedic and love it.

That's what I have as well. Having the foam is great since its so light -- makes changing the sheets much easier!!

 Re: Crib Mattress
Be aware when buying the mattress that while coils are sturdier, in addition to being more , they are also heavier. As long as it's a firm mattress, it'll be fine.
Picture changing sheets at 3am because they've exploded out of their diaper, gotten sick, etc. You'll wish you had the lighter weight mattress.
What I would do is trhow the mattress in the crib, then try lifting it up. The easiest to lift but firmest mattress is the one you buy.
eta. I thought mine was about $260 but that was 4 years ago.

 Re: Crib Mattress
I am opting for the cheaper one. Not too cheap, but in between. imo, I would rather spend the money when she is in a "big girl bed".

I didn't really compare, I went by the Baby Bargains recommendation. It is very, very firm, which is healthy for baby. My daughter is sleeping well.
