Not silly at all. I would have thought that the mid west would be broken down by North Central States and South Central States. It seems like you would be missing states like Texas the other way.
Maybe HI and Alaska would be called Non-Continental US States?

I was gettnig caught up in some new controversy saying there is no more "Midwest"
I just got myself all confused and flustered.
We call ours Central - and it's broken down by North Central, Mid Central, South Central

I've always been taught that NY, NJ, PA area is "Mid-Atlantic"
There's no clearcut, easy answer...is there.  I hate when that happens!
