Fuller figure nursing bras?

Can someone help me pick one?

I know they have to be underwire-free, which stinks because I need the lift....Chat Icon

Are you worried about getting a clogged duct? I have the worst luck so I just know I would get one if I kept with the underwire...Why can't they at least make a soft underwire?

Check out Nordstrom...I've been looking at a few myself...the girls got big and I'm sure will get bigger...I am definitely looking for padded and underwire bras.

Re: Fuller figure nursing bras?

I look at it as - why would they make an underwire nursing bra if it wasn't safe for nursing mothers!! I am sure that i am not the first nursing mother to wear an underwire.

I am also afraid of not wearing under wire and lack of support. I decided that I would try a couple of nursing bras without under wire and see how it goes. I bought to different styles from Motherhood Maternity at Macys today. They also had nursing bras with under wire. I didn't feel them so I do not know the softness of the under wire.

I agree. Why do they make them if we are told not to wear them? I mentioned it to two sales ladies and they looked at me like I had 2 heads, "absolutely no underwire" they said. I had already read that it could caused clogged ducts in my BFing book too.

I wound up getting some nursing tanks but I really do need the bras.

Stores also sell cigarettes.

Not everyone is informed, and some people as you see want an underwire despite the risk. Its not a guarantee of an infection/clogged duct, just an increased likelihood.

The just because they sell them, they must be ok argument is a little silly really.

Clogged ducts and breast infections are very, very painful if you get one. I didn't want to take the increased chance with a wire.

I nursed my first DD over two years. I wore glamourmom nursing tanks almost the entire time so that my belly would be covered when I nursed. No good during pregnancy though because you can't fit the tummy in the tank. I just bought a few comfy wireless non-nursing bras from Maidenform to get me through the pregnancy.

ITA with this. I'm only 12 weeks, and the wires are already uncomfortable for me. I wouldn't take that risk later on. I ordered a non underwire bra from JCpenney, I'll let you know how it is when I get it and start using it.
