Full Term
When is the baby considered full term? Is it 37 weeks? Or is that still considered premature? Also, when are the lungs developed and safe for delivery? Is that 34 weeks? Just curious what milestones are ahead.

Re: Full Term
"term" is 37 weeks on. but my OB will be taking me off bed rest at 36 weeks because at that point the lungs and brain are mature enough to avoid major complications in the vast majorty of babies. 32 weeks is also a big milestone with regard to lung and brain development; according to my OB, babies born after 32 weeks usually have many fewer breathing complications.

Re: Full Term
37-40 weeks is considered "term"...when the doctor gives you your due date it is at the 40 week mark..

Re: Full Term
37 weeks is considered term, but you may bnot be effaced, dialeted or the baby may not drop until later.
the lungs are ok to be due at 37 weeks before that the baby may not have them fully developed
