Full size bed at 2.5 years old?
My DD is almost 25months old and still in her crib, I am thinking of skipping the toddler bed and transferring her to a full size bed in the summer when she will be 2.5 years old...
She is a great sleeper who uses a pillow and a comforter since age 15months...
My crib changes into a toddler bed and then into a full size bed..
Do you think it is too early at 2.5 years old to be in a full size bed? should I put her in a toddler bed first? I will put the safty guards on the side of the bed but do you think it is too dangerous?
This is the crib
This is the Toddler bed
and how it will look as a full size bed (similar one)
TIA!

Re: Full size bed at 2.5 years old?
With my eldest DD we skipped the toddler bed and went straight to the full sized bed right before her 2nd bday. She loved it. We put it against the wall for one side and the other side we got a rail for. So if she rolled one way she would roll into the wall and the other way the side railing would catch her. we never had a problem.

My DD went straight to a toddler bed. She was a little older than 2.5 but not a whole lot. I don't see the problem at all. We don't use a box spring on the kind of bed we have and never used bed rails.

We did the toddler bed first. He is actually still in toddler bed. We're transitioning to twin size next month. I don't think there is anything wrong with skipping the toddler bed...its whatever you and your child are more comfortable with.

Why would it be dangerous? If you are putting the bed rails on, I think it would be fine. I bet she'll love the room that she can spread out. Or in my DD's case, will have plenty of room for the 34354,454958495849 stuffed animals on her bed.

We are debating this very issue right now too...DD is already 2.5 and we are thinking of skipping the toddler bed and going straight to the full size bed. We haven't made up our minds yet though!
