FTWM's and Weekends!
Do you feel like you almost feel guilty saying No plans b/c you just want to relax with your LO and DH on the weekends?
My Sister and BIL invite us over a lot. Usually it's last minute. We see them a lot as well, but my BIL likes to make me feel guilty if we say No. Like I need an excuse every time. Honestly, we'll see them some Fridays. Usually, Saturday and Sunday I'll spend with DH and Mason running errands, stopping at a friends, playing outside, plans for parties, etc. Sunday came and I saw my sister, BIL and the kids for a little at a Purim festival. He invited us for dinner and I said no thanks, we're just chilling tonight. Mason was sick on Friday and still a little Saturday. We wanted him to relax and get back on routine and to bed early Sun night b/c I have to bring him back to daycare Monday. They have 4 kids and are always running around. My sister works 3 days a week and weekends are busy with dance, soccer, etc. When they have 5 mins they'll call and ask us to come over. We try to accomadate sometimes and other times it's hard. Also, BIL likes to poke fun b/c Mason is still an only child for now so yes, we're not as relaxed about them taking out sick kids and running around.

As Ann's been getting older, I've been feeling guilty if we don't get out on the weekends (to do something other than errands).

Re: FTWM's and Weekends!
Even as a SAHM I deal with this.
DH works full time and has a business at home as well, weekends we want to be together, run errands together, etc...
I feel very guilty telling people no. As it was this weekend we told out parents we werent going to see them, but we still ended up having to squeeze in some other family visiting. It just stinks because as much as I love that everyone wants to see DS, with feeding and napping by the time we have people over it messes up OUR plans to go out.
Im getting to the point where I really dont care if people get insulted because even though I am home with DS all the time during the week, Im still entitled to relax with my family on the weekends. I fear what this will be like when I go back to work in september.

We reserve some time for family and friends and fun stuff and other time for just hanging and relaxing. you do need some down time also or else your exhausted.

I agree! I feel like I have so much to get done on the weekends as it is- shopping, errands, groceries, cleaning, laundry etc And I want to spend time with DD too.
I feel like if someone invites us over, it kind of throws a wrench in the whole day- as bad as that sounds.
I feel like I just need to catch up!

I don't feel guilty. My priority is my family. I look forward to my weekend just so we can spend time together.

Re: FTWM's and Weekends!
When DS was little we generally stuck to 1 outing per weekend. We all needed time at home together. It was just too much for him (and us) if we were out the entire weekend.
Don't feel guilty about doing what you want and feel is best for your family.

Re: FTWM's and Weekends!
Yes!! I was just feeling guilt about this this past weekend. I have cancelled on some plans 2-3 times already. Since having the baby and being back to work, I literally am so busy on the weekends trying to do everything...laundry, cleaning, food shopping........I just can seem to want to do things on the weekends these days. I try and get out for my older boys sake, but it usually means more exhaustion.
PS - I am having a bad Monday since I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted to this weekend and now I am stuck doing other peoples work!!!
