frustrated with baby belly
ok, so its 4 weeks since my c-section and my belly is still pretty big. Im still in pain and im so upset that it still hurts this much and that my belly is this big. It hurts to walk b/c my belly jiggles so much which causes the inside incision to hurt even more. Im not sure how "normal" this is. I gained 33lbs during the pregnancy and was not overweight or anything before the pregnancy. Any advice or experiences to share? Its making me very upset.

Re: frustrated with baby belly
I had a c-section 3 wks ago and Iam still a little sore. I gained 40 lbs and delivered 3 wks early!! Ive been having a problem with my incision healing, I have a nurse come to my house every morning to clean and repack the opening (gross i know) Anyways, I understand your frustration... Hang in there, it's going to take time

Re: frustrated with baby belly
I didn't have a c-section but, I had the same experience. It seems funny now but, i remember worrying that the OB left something behind because I could not imagine how my belly was still so big. I remember I had a wedding at 4 weeks pp and, without spanx, I literally still looked 5 mo pg. And, it was like a baby belly - it wasn't mushy.
Anyway, point being - everyone's body is different. I remember at 4weeks pp trying on pants from pre-preg and there was literally FOUR inches between the button and the hole - yet, I only had 10lbs to lose! Then, randomly at 3 mos pp - doing nothing different (still eating healthy but not really exercising) I tried on the same pants and they fit! Hang in there - it will go back

Re: frustrated with baby belly
People can be so rude! Dont let them upset you, You just had major surgery and of course you're going to have swelling. It takes time to heal. Everyone heals differently.Plus being hormonal and exhausted doesnt help the situation. Have you seen your OB since the c section? Maybe you should talk to her about your pain. My Doctor sent me home with Motrin and Percocets. Hang in there.... I am here if you want to chat
Your daughter is beautiful!!!! I think I have the perfect man for her..My little Jack!..lol

Re: frustrated with baby belly
Give your body time to heal I know its hard but the baby belly will shrink. I gained 50lbs and lost 35 with ease. The last 15 I am working at still and I still have a belly. But I try to remember it took me 9 months to get my body this way I can't expect it to just go back to normal right away.
As far as the incision pain goes, I would talk to your OB to make sure its normal. I had some pain on and off, but nothing too severe 4 weeks later. Also dont do too much! My OB yelled at me when at 4 weeks PP I was carrying my DSs infant carrier. As much as we want to do it all you have to give your body time to heal!
So make sure you rest during the day, don't try to do it all, the cleaning, cooking etc can wait, take care of your DC and yourself!!!!
I promise it gets better!

it takes time for the weight to come off (9 months on and 9 months off people tend to say), i gained 40 lbs with DS and now a year later finally lost all the weight ( i was stuck at the last 10 lbs for months and when DS was around 10 months it started just coming off again). You just had the baby so please dont be hard on yourself people are insensitive, just ignore them. 4 weeks is nothing, you cant even resume normal everyday activities yet at that point , including exercising

I had a similar experience, I went to a CPR class 2 months after DS was born and someone asked when I was due!
I know its hard but dont be so hard on yourself! Wear it like a badge of honor (for now) after all YOU just carried, nurished, created a LIFE, your precious DD who I sure is perfect in every way is here because of that belly you are carrying! So if it takes a few months for it to get better so be it! You just had a baby!!!!!
PS..I wont lie, with a c-section it takes longer for the belly to fully shrink!

Re: frustrated with baby belly
Be patient!! Don't worry! Give yourself lots of time to heal. You had MAJOR SURGERY. It will not happen over night.
With a c/s it's going to take some time and I babied my tummy for a while before I got back into the swing of things.
You can get back to your old self, but don't rush it
