front door

Can anyone recommend a place you've gotten a front door for a reasonable price and installation rate? Our front door is nice but its been re-painted so many times it looks kinda bad up close. I'd like to replace it with a wood-grain looking fiberglass door. DH and I saw one we liked at Loews but it cost us $50 just to have the guy come and measure the door and they wanted a lot of money to install it, plus they told us we had to custom order which would cost us thousands more. Just wanted to get other options (and preferably with free estimates!) TIA!!

Re: front door

We just got a new front door from HD. The brand is feather river. We "built" the door on their website using the "door building" function. It was custom ordered. It came in 2 weeks. HD delivered it, but we had our contractor install it. We measured ourselves.

It cost a little over $1,000. Then of course, the week it was delivered, it went on sale for 25% off - we went back to HD and they gave us a price adjustment. We love it.

Re: front door

fiberglass doors are much more expensive. we wound up going with a steel door because of that. we got ours through elegant entries, but home depot and lowes had nice selections too.
