From Pregnancy...Switching OB's Mid Pregnancy?
Sounds like it should be simple...
Pick a Dr. you like, make appointment, have records transferred, right?
BUT, I don't KNOW who I want to switch to or if I definitely want to switch.
I'd like to be able to have a consult with 1 or 2 Dr's before I tell my Dr that I want my records, etc.
I did call another office about switching today and they just wanted to make a regular OB appointment at the time I would be scheduled for my next appointment and just continue with them after.
I also tried to ask my Ins. Co. how to do it and they said...simply make your next appointment with the new Dr.
They didn't know how or if it would be covered...
Am I making sense?
Anyone ever switch mid-pregnancy?

I switched at 20 weeks with my first pregnancy. I didn't meet with them but spoke to one of the dr's on the phone. It helped that many of my friends were happy there.

I switched at 32 weeks! And had my twins at 35 wks(but I moved) Everything worked out fine

I switched at 20 weeks as well since my original OB didnt deliver anymore. I trusted my doctor and went to her referral. Had a quick consult with the new OB and that was it. Everything worked out fine.

I switched at 13 weeks, I wanted the opportunity to try for a VBAC and I was fed up with the waits and the rude sono tech at my old doctor's office.

With my first pregnancy I switched practices at 13 weeks. I was so frustrated with the way the office staff treated me and the wait time. I requested my records and picked them up the following day. Best decision I ever made!

I switched at 32 weeks with dd#1, best thing I ever did...my old ob was a witch...loved my other doctor and couldn't be happier - had my 2nd with him too! do it, it will make your life and pg so much easier!!
