Fried Cauliflower
I bought some cauliflower today and had a hankering for some fried.
How do you make yours?
I think I par boil for a few mins, dip in seasoned egg, flour or breadcrumbs and fry.
I don't think I need a deep fryer do I?

Re: Fried Cauliflower
We've used a turkey fryer to make it. I parboil and use a beer batter. Delicious!

Also what oil is best. I could go canola but thinking peanut.
I could also nuke it first for a few mins.

Seperate cauliflower into small florets. bring salted water to boil and add florets. bring to vil again and cook 5 minutes. Drain and corsely chop - set aside.
Mix flour, salt, pepper, water and egg - stir in oinion and chopped cauliflower.
Heat oil in large skilled. Drop cauliflower mix by tablespoons in to the hot oil and saute until brown.

Re: Fried Cauliflower
I use flour, salt, pepper and WARM beer (a regular ole' Pilsner). Mix until it makes a nice batter.. looks like a thick pancake batter. You don't want to beat it up too much.
Dip the veg in a omelette egg mix (Evap milk and eggs) - then dip in batter and then fry.
I use vegetable oil... but I use peanut oil for frying chicken so that would probably be good too!
It tastes good to me! I use the same batter for Cod!
