Frequent Cold Program?

Anyone else's DC belong to the frequent cold program? I think we had a "runny nose free" day for MAYBE 2 days and now back to sniffle, sneezing, crankiness and not sleeping through the night. The last round (a week ago) resulted in a double ear infection, our first. Is this normal this time of year to have one cold after another? Or, should I call and make a Ped appointment?

Also, without starting a debate for and against flu shots.... DS is scheduled for his booster flu shot tomorrow. Will they still give it to him if he has a runny nose?

TIA for all the information. One tired mommy here, and I'm just trying to make it through the day. Chat Icon

Re: Frequent Cold Program?

i have one here!! Chat Icon since september, shes gotten stuffy,(colds in kids last about 2 weeks my dr says)....then, shes good for a week, and a week later, another stuffy....right now, shes at the end of her 3.4th stuffy nose (and this one has a little cough with it)....i called the DR, and she said "dont worry about it, this is SO normal, and this year is a bad year anyway...kids get a LOT LOT of colds- and the reason why we as adults dont get them so much now is bc weve HAD all of them"....

so, yes, im in the same boat as u, but luckily, hannah ahs gotten used to them, i guess, and the last 2 stuffy noses have been uninterrupted sleep, so we are lucky....i just keep the cool mist humidy going non stop now...

good luck!!!

I'm up for president. DD has been on antibotics for over 50 days since Sept. Every cold leads to an ear infection. The cold never ever goes awayChat Icon

Re: Frequent Cold Program?

She has had a cough for about a month now. It stinks to hear her coughing at night. I feel so bad for her.
