Freezing Pasta Sauce?

Can I freeze a jar of Pasta Sauce? I opened up a big jar of it earlier this week. We don't use it all that often and I would hate to throw it out. Could I freeze it and defrost it when I need it again?

Thanks for the response! Should I seperate it into several tuppers or is it okay for me to defrost it and possibly freeze it again?

Re: Freezing Pasta Sauce?

I'd do it in smaller containers if you know you won't use the whole thing next time. As a rule of thumb, I never defrost and then refreeze anything.

me too. FYI if you don't want it to stain, line the tupperware with plastic wrap. Or use freezer bags.

Re: Freezing Pasta Sauce?

Just like everyone else, I separate it into tupperware and freeze it.

You should never re-freeze anything.
This MULTIPLIES bacteria.

I used to also freeze it in ice cube trays, then pop it out and put it in freezer bags.
