Freezing meals
I know this was discussed before but now I forgot...
what are you cooking/freezing ahead of time? and what are you storing them in?
I was planning on making/freezing some meatballs, individual meatloaves, possibly a lasagna, chili, a mac & cheese casserole w/broccoli
how should I freeze these, freezer bags in portions? Or a casserole dish w/lid?
I've never really cooked ahead of time and froze stuff...

Re: Freezing meals
i was going to do this, but got lazy. and bsides, DH does all the cooking anyway and since he's a teacher too, he'll be home for the summer to cook!
also since it's a summer baby for us, we're planning jsut to take advantage of all the fresh fruit and veggies and grilling outside most nights.
but if it was winter, i would make some sheperd's pie, stew, ziti, lasagne and DH would probably make gallons of sauce. you can totally freeze in a casserole dish, or those disposable metal pans (for a ziti for example). I've also taken things like sauce or stew and just poured it into a Ziploc bag. you can freeze it just like that.
good luck!

Re: Freezing meals
I too am thinking of the trusty sauce and pasta meals
Other than that I plan on putting my crock pot to good use ....
As well as my blender for smoothies (for a quick almost hands free pick me up during the day) And my panini maker too.
Will also keep our fave pizza place on speed dial
