Freedom Pharmacy strikes again .......
Ahh great part about outing myself on here is I can make this post venting about Freedom
I had to get intralipids delivered to my dr's office. I called Freedom on Thursday to order intralpids to get sent directly there and for PIO/supps get sent to me. They said it would all arrive by the next day between 8-4.
By 3:30 yesterday, I checked the tracking number to find that BOTH packages are being held at a warehouse in Jamaica.
Ok .. that's great. I need my meds.
I called Freedom to ask what was going on and they said this is the busiest day of the year for Fedex but the meds should arrive by the end of the day, though not by 4 like promised. The problem is that my dr's office closes at 5 and the delivery needs to be signed for. So.. now what?
Fast forward to this morning .. The drugs I had sent to me have STILL not arrived (thankfully it's not a dire emergency) but my dr's office is already closed till Wednesday for the holiday so my intralipids will not get delivered and I'm supposed to have my infusion that day.
I called Freedom and (through lack of better judgment ) had it out with them. I really do try not to be rude, but in this situation I was angry and frustrated! They told me how Fedex is backed up because this is their busiest day and I say to the woman that this isn't a grandfather clock, it's fertility meds!!!! I just can't believe that deliveries of this nature don't get a big red "priority" sticker attached to it. I get that Fedex has their work cut out for them the last Friday before Christmas.... but these are fertility drugs! I just feel like the delivery should be prioritized.
Technically this isn't Freedom's fault.. but it just really infuriates me that the drugs don't get prioritized here for guaranteed shipping, no matter what time of year it is. What would I do if they were on ice and needed to be refrigerated? (thankfully they're not .. ) but I'm sure someone out there is having that issue now........

Ugh, that is so annoying. Like you said, it's understandable that they are backed up but these meds are important. They should have made sure it was prioritized.
Side note- I LOVE that it says "My Pod" now...makes my heart smile for you :)

just have the intralipids delivered to you, keep them in the fridge, and bring it with you day of infusion. i always did the infusions at home so they were always sent to me. itll work out perfect cause youre supposed to warm them before infusion so your trip to the city will do that and you wont have to worry about keeping it cool.

Freedom Pharmacy strikes again .......
not sure what you pay through freedom but metro drugs in the city has a fantastic price on intralipids (i think it's like $35) and they will deliver it to SIRM the next day. i know you have it figured out this time but maybe next time metro will save you a headache :)

Thank you, you're the 2nd person to suggest this .... I'll have to see what my insurance covered. I heard they even do deliveries the SAME day.
I totally understand why this happened.. I just feel like there needs to be a better system in place since these drugs are so time sensitive.

I'm having the same issue. Freedom was supposed to have meds shipped to me for hold at FedEx yesterday. I always get mine shipped this way and they have always been there by lunch the next day. Not this time. Just checked and meds still not there. I can't believe that FedEx has dropped the ball this way. BTW- Freedom is the cheapest anywhere for Intralipids- $27. Glad you figured everything out.

I've used Metro twice in the past, most recently this week, and have had no issues. I called them Wednesday afternoon and they sent my meds via FedEx overnight. Had them by 4:30PM thursday. Also, I told them I couldn't gurantee that I would be home to sign for them and they had me fill out a form via email waiving the signature requirement.

I hope you both got your deliveries! I finally got mine that was supposed to come directly to me. As for the intralipids.. I have no clue. Thankfully though, I figured out an alternative plan. I said it before, but they really need a system in place! This shouldn't happen!

Thanks for this! I'll have to check out the prices compared to Freedom (which tend to be the cheapest)... because I've been having issues with them lately and been hearing good things about Metro. It also depends where my insurance will cover meds from.

Re: Freedom Pharmacy strikes again .......
Just for the record, this wasn't freedom pharmacies screw up...this is all FEDEX (for the past week they've been screwed up...they can't handle the holiday volume obviously). I got my meds this morning. I did however get a call from them yesterday telling me that some of the FEDEX employees volunteered to come in for a few house and that if I want I could come down and get them (I wasn't home all day yesterday).
I have used Freedom for more years than I want to admit (OK 5yrs) and this is the first time I have ever had any issue.
