Freecycle...just joined, already has me laughing.
This one was titled: Wanted: Post It Notes
Hi Freecyclers, I hope someone can help! I've just started a course
at Uni and need lots of post it notes especially the index
markers/flags. If anyone can help I can pick up at a time to suit.
Hope to hear from someone. I would be very very grateful!

You have to click on the box that says something about no e-mails...I can't remember what it is, but it's in your settings.
You will get hundreds of e-mails a day...

Do you think she might want used post it notes? After last Friday's Fun Day Friday challenge, I have about 24 Post It note flip books on my desk.
Maybe I will ask her.

Ooh- I love the index flags! She can't have mine!
Is tuition that high these days, that there's nothing left for post-it's?
And actually it sounds like she is just talking 1 class--not even a full courseload!

I have gotten a lot of good things on there and I have given away a lot of good stuff too

We've been signed up for a while. If you get the digest emails, it's only one email a day, with all of the posts in the one email. Makes it a little more bearable.

My husband and I have no less than 20 packs of 3x3 yellow post it notes from a job he left that was going out of business.
I should join and contact this chick. Just goes to show you, one person's trash is another one's treasure!

The "wanted" section amazes me sometimes. I can't believe some of the stuff people ask for. Similarly, though, I can't believe some of the crap people offer - open cosmetics? 
I have gotten a few things from there and am thinking I might list something soon. I think it is a great idea and the more one can keep out of the landfills, the better.

I think its brilliant, I really want to get a second hand toy kitchen for my son, I can't stomach the thought of spending all that cash to buy one when someone, somewhere is thinking about throwing one away!!!

It's great for perennials and other plants...I've gotten daylillies, irises and montauk daisies from there. When people clear out their gardens it works great for me!
I got rid of a shredder and broken lawn mower on there also...I figure it beats throwing it the garbage.

Ive given away tons of stuff and received lots of really good stuff too. However, I do also laugh at some of the posts. On the flipside of the request for such an inexpensive item, some people have such balls with their big requests. Usually someone who never offers things... LOL @ the 1/2 eaten box of granola bars. Some things I just can't imagine saving and waiting to give away to a stranger who comes to your house.
And some people are downright rude when they email you about an item you are giving away. most people ar nice though and all in all, I think it's a great site.
