I recently organized this class at work. it was great. short and quick and to the point. you are not certified, but learn the bare bones skills you need to help potentially save a life.
they only ask that you pay if forward, by teaching what you have learned in the class to your friends and family.
highly recommended.

I did this at work recently, CPR, AED and First Aid, and have been certified.
It was a whole day affair, exhausted afterward but it feels good to know that I can help if I have to.

I get recertified every year because of the fact that I work with children, teens, seniors and adults in a NYC run recreation center.
I love having the certificiation and it's so worth. I love the fact that you have to pledge to show five more what skills you've learned.
From experience it can save a life. A co-worker of mine was at Thanksgiving dinner two years ago with his family.. his dad started to have a heart attack there at the dinner table.. it was because that my co-worker was trained in CPR he saved his own dads life.
