Free classes
Library classes. Other than that nothing is "free". You can take trial classes but that's about it. At that age music ones are best.

Free classes
Safety swim is supposedly free up to a certain age.
Other than that, the library. I never had a need to pay for classes until dd was around 2 because we always found plenty of library classes.

Free classes
It's so interesting that there aren't many free classes on LI, there are a ton in the city that I took my son to. There were also good $15 drop in classes. They need more on LI!

Free classes
the library classes are great-- you can go to other towns', that way you can go to one practically every day, but you have to find out their rules (usually out of towners are on a wait list)

I think it's under 6 months. Also, gymboree the first class is free.
