Freddy update

things are difficult with him and his level of cognition is what hold him back sometimes. His short term memory is poor.

I took him to the psychiatrist yesterday so he can adjust his meds. We are in full swing with that but it takes a while for the meds to ramp up. After, I took him to Chilis for lunch and it was just me and him. We talked about stuff and bonded a bit.

He has to go to the regular doc today and mom and dad are hopefully getting him there. He always balks at going. His thyroid levels and glucose levels are way off and this could be contributing to the mental status as well.

He is easily annoyed and frustrated. Poor guy. We are getting him a computer for his room so he has some things to do. He wants to look at cars and women he says! Good for him.

He is still fighting us on his hygene so we are getting a home health aid that will help him. Maybe she can convince him to take care of his hygeine..they have experience with the mentally stubborn. That's my name for him now..mentally stubborn.

He had an appt with the regular doc today but we just found out the new offices are not handicap accessible...

I'm finding that a lot lately.

It's good that his meds are being updated. DH is on very low doses of meds but I can tell when he hasn't taken them or hasn't taken them correctly. It really effects him. Good luck with everything else. It will come around in due time. DH gets a little lax with his hygiene. It it a mental illness thing that makes them do that or just laziness?

I think it's a combo of both. He admitted he is lazy. he's always been about shaving and now he is sporting a rabbi beard.

I went as far as calling him Osama yesterday.
