Formula to Whole Milk
Did you gradually wean with a mix of formula and whole milk or go cold turkey? I've gone cold turkey twice and they were both fine but curious what most people do.

Re: Formula to Whole Milk
I did gradual because DD had a lot of stomach issues and acid reflux etc.
so I started around 11 months mixing in 1 oz of milk to 5 oz of formula for a week. Then increased to 2 oz to 4 oz and so on until we were all milk
She did fine that way with no issues

Formula to Whole Milk
My doctor told me to go cold turkey but since I have a whole thing of formula left (and being that it's expensive I don't want to just throw it out) I'm doing 4 oz of formula and 4 ounces of milk for now. Once I'm close to the end of the formula I'll add more milk and go from there

Formula to Whole Milk
We did a gradual change with DD1 who had no prior stomach issues at all and even that wreaked havoc on her. She became so constipated. We had slow the gradual transition even more and add prune juice to it for a few weeks. It ended up taking nearly a month to transition. It's been almost 2 years since that happened and she has no problems with milk at all.

Now that you mention it, she did get backed up from the milk even with the slow transition. Dr said it was normal as they adjust. I'm glad I didn't do cold turkey though, that would have been bad

Not to hijack but just curious if he grew out of it? My 11 month old is having the same issue as we try to transition gradually and determining if she intolerant or what. But she eats yogurt and cheese no problem.

This why I was thinking lactose intolerance wouldn't be an issue with going cold turkey. Between formula, cheese and yogurt, wouldn't you know before they transition to milk?

Formula to Whole Milk
We did a gradual change over 3 or 4 days with no issue. 1st day did 1 oz milk to 3 oz formula and then next day 2 oz milk to 2 oz formula and so on. My DD had acid reflux and a milk protein intolerance as an infant, but grew out of it.

Re: Formula to Whole Milk
I did a gradual only cause I too still had a tub of formula. Otherwise I would have gone cold turkey
