Formula on the Plane?
Does anyone know if you can bring bottles filled with formula? Also, is there a limit?

Re: Formula on the Plane?
When we flew to NY for Christmas, I had 3 8oz. bottles filled with water going and coming back. No one gave us a problem. We flew out of Islip and Chicago Midway.

Re: Formula on the Plane?
When I called the airline, they told me that as long as it doesn't look excessive, I would be fine...They also told me to take it out of my bag and put it into a bin so I was "declaring" it to security...no one said anything to me about a few bottles of formula...

Re: Formula on the Plane?
Most people here have not had an issue with this, but i did when we went to Florida on July 4th weekend. We left from JFK. I didn't even put the formula into the bottles, but rather had those 8oz ready to feed cans unopened. The security personnel stated i had to discard the formula since you were only allowed 4ozs of any fluid on the plane. I told him this was incorrect and that i had checked it on their website. He kept insisting i was wrong and I started crying at this point because i was so frazzled by then and knew we could not get on the plane with no formula for them.
He finally called over his supervisor who agreed to let me go through this time. We had no issue on the plane back from Florida and I brought the exact same thing with me.
My advice is bring the ready to feed cans unopened like I did and fill the bottles up on the plane. Or bring powder and buy water once you are inside the gate. Also, I would print out the rules on the TSA website so in case it happens to you, you will have proof that formula/breastmilk is excused from any limits.
