Formula moms
DD is 6 1/2 mos. We use RTF Gentlease and just bought the powder. I'm curious how those of you who've been using powder make your bottles. Up until now, her bottles have been made ahead of time. I'm not sure if we can do the same with powder or if we have to make it each time she is ready to eat. Also, are you boiling water, using Brita water...?
DD, who is a big eater, hasn't been finishing her bottles the last couple of weeks. She's been taking 4 or 5 bottles of 6 1/2 oz each. Lately, she doesn't finish one or two of them. Any thoughts?

I used powder. We would mix it up in a large batch ahead of time and then pour it into the bottles and store in fridge. I'd make enough for one full day.

This is what I do too. I use the Dr. Brown's formula pitcher and make all of the next day's bottles at night before bed. I use water from the Brita pitcher. My sister used to measure the water into the bottles ahead of time, and leave them out but wait until right before each feeding to mix in the powder, so that she didn't have to warm them.
As far as not finishing the bottles, you could try to drop down to 4 bottles and see how that goes.

I did this too. I have the Dr. brown's pitcher. Makes formula making a snap. Highly recommend.

I pre-fil my bottles with Poland Spring then add scoops of formula accordinginly. My Dr suggested not to make the bottles ahead of time because of bacteria but I would try it if it was easier but I have come to love the system of just adding scoops. We don't heat them up either,...room temp!

Same here. When out I just keep room temp water in bottles and use a powder dispenser. I scoop into the dispenser then dump into bottle mix and give. No heating up when out

We leave water (Brita) in the bottles on the counter. When it's time to feed DS we just put in the scoops and feed him. It doesn't take long at all.
If your daughter isn't finishing her bottles, she's probably either getting ready to drop a bottle or needs smaller bottles. DS started drinking less formula as he began eating more solids. It's perfectly normal as long as she's still getting enough to eat, which it sounds like she does.

This is exactly what we do. When were out, I use the powder holder and just pour in the powder to an pre-filled bottle of poland spring.

We boiled water in a tea kettle then stored it at room temperature in a large container. We made bottles each time she needed one. For daycare I premade all her bottles.

I measured the water and then added the formula to test and see what the end result was- according to the package directions. Then, here's what I did:
I scoop out the dry formula powder into each bottle, cap it, and put it away. When it's time for a bottle, I just heated the purified water a little, added it to the bottle with powder, and we were always ready to go!
I always have 18 bottles prepped and 2 drying on the rack.
