Formula?

Background - DD is on reflux meds and we supplement with formula because she started losing weight when I was exclusively breast feeding
She is doing great but still is very gassy and vomits a lot

So now for the question - she was originally put on similac supplementing for breast fed babies
But I was thinking of switching to a formula for gas and fussiness like an enfamil gentle ease
Can I just switch formulas or do I have to stick with what the doctor originally gave me at the office ?

Formula?

I never asked or said anything before switching. Whenever I brought her for a well visit, they would ask what she was on. What worked for awhile was similac total comfort. She became almost a new baby.

ETA: at that point I was still nursing a couple of times a day.

Re: Formula?

I've changed both with and without dr. guidance. The one benefit of asking when you're at a free well-child appt is that the doctor usually gives you free samples of what he suggests! Bit I've also found that doctors offices can be partial to a limited amount of brands.

You can change without asking your ped. But be prepared to try it for two weeks. You may not see a change the first day on a new formula. Are you still BFing? It could also be something you're eating.

Re: Formula?

For my DS, at one of his well visits the pediatrician suggested switching to the formula I had him on (alimentum)

With my DD, she started having the same issues so I switched on my own to alimentum.
