Formula
Would anyone happen to know if North Shore Manhasset and South Nassau stopped providing formula? I've read that many hospitals stopped giving them out, in order to encourage breast feeding.
TIA

No hospital stopped providing formula. Some will encourage BF more than others.

This.
They can not deny you formula while you are a patient. They might not give out samples to take home anymore. Neither of those hospitals are in the 5 boroughs so they are not under the new initiative but they still might strongly encourage breastfeeding.

Re: Formula
I was BFing when I was at South Nassau, but there were Similac nursettes in the bassinet, which I took in case I needed them. There were only 4 there, but I have a feeling that the drawer would have been more stocked had I been FF at the time.

ITA. FTR, the hospitals in the 5 boros that volunteered for the initiative will still provide formula for families that choose bottle feeding. They just won't give out the extra "goody bag" of free samples.
