formula - types
Which type do you use? Powder, pre-made liquid, something else
Is one better over the other? Powder is the least expensive???

Re: formula - types
We use ready to use. We used powder for several weeks but DD was so gassy and constipated. We switched to RTU and she is no longer constipated and seems to be somewhat less gassy. The powder is less expensive and easier to use when away from home.

Re: formula - types
we use the ready to feed - mostly because its quick and easy and I dont have the time to be messing around mixing the powder! It is cheaper though so maybe at some point I will think I switching. we use powdered when we are going out for a whole day because then we dont have to worry about keeping it cold.

Re: formula - types
I use the powder. I make a pitcher of it a day and just pour a bottle when I am ready. We started with ready to feed and switched with no problems.

Re: formula - types
We use powder. Have from the beginning and it has been fine for us.
I think with RTF you keep it room temp when it is closed but once it is opened you have to refrigerate it.

the RTF bottles can be kept room temp in the cabinet until you open one of them - then it has to be refridgerated. You can keep a bottle or two cold in an insulated lunch bag or bottle bag with an ice pack for a few hours when you go out somewhere. HTH!

Re: formula - types
I use powder mainly, but here in the UK they sell juice box sized RTF so I take them with me when I go out. They are really convenient. I have to make sure that I have a pair of scissors in my bag, but its nice and easy!!! I like using powder at home, I use a coffee frother blender thing to mix the formula and its never lumpy!

Re: formula - types
We were using RTF Enfamil Lipil w/Iron up until recently (we had a hookup that got us formula for cheap) and we have started transitioning Sofia to powder since we have to pay full price for it now. Powder is definitely cheaper and it is the same as RTF.

Re: formula - types
I switch between RTF and powder but I mainly use RTF. The powder is cheaper but for the particular formula we use it gets very sudsy and alot of air in it also so I try to only use if we will be out all day. I go through 8 RTF cans a week ( I cant wait to start him on cereal but he isn't ready for it) and about 2 28oz cans of powder a week if I use the powder.
