for YOU.. how far is too far along to fly?

what is the latest you feel comfortable flying?
DH and I will have a free trip to Miami for work and would hate to miss out on it. It will be 3 weeks before my due date. my only real concern would be flying as long as i'm feeling ok with everything else at that time.

My Doc said 32 weeks which is what is now stuck in my head.

Now. At 28 weeks and low amnio fluid, I just want to be near home (and bathroom.)

Each Dr is different (mine said I could fly up to 36 weeks, some say no flying in the 3rd try) BUT, the airlines will not let you fly after 36 weeks.

My Dr said 36 weeks with no issues.

But after what I went though with blood clots I won't fly in my 3rd tri if I have another baby. I dont have a choice for this one....I am grounded.

My OB said that as long as the pregnancy is "normal", you can fly til 36 weeks (as long as the flights are below 6 hours and within the US).

I would check with your airline carrier...most of them don't let you fly when you are that far along in your pregnancy.

I flew to Michigan b/t 35 and 36 weeks. My doctor was okay with it but told me to walk around the plane often.

I would not fly that late again. While I was comfortable, my legs swelled so bad! After that flight, I had to keep my legs elevated as much as possible and ended up having to work from home the last week or two of my pregnancy b/c my doctor wanted me off my feet.

Not past 30 weeks or so (my dr. doesn't recommend flying past 28)

I personally wouldn't fly past 30 weeks, but my doctor said she would "allow" it up until 36 weeks.

If your trip is 3 weeks before your due date that would make you 37 weeks.....I have doubts your doctor would be ok with that unless it was an emergency.

i wouldn't feel comfortable after 28-30 weeks... we took our babymoon to aruba when i was 26 weeks. my doctor said no international flights after 30 weeks.

With my first pregnancy, my OB said 32 weeks. I traveled with work almost every week and flew up until 32 weeks. I was getting hard to sit for long periods and if the seatbelt sign was on and I couldn't get up to walk or pee it was torturous. But, it was fine - I never felt like I couldn't be on the plane. I stopped at 32 like OB said so I can't speak for later.

That being said, I've had a ton of friends give birth between 34 and 37 weeks, so I'd be very worried to fly that late, I think I would have stopped at 33 or 34 if my OB hadn't said anything.

My last pregnancy I would of flown up to 30 weeks.

This pregnancy though I'm having issues so I would not fly at all at this point. I'm 21 weeks.

Three weeks before you due date I would never fly. Not only will you be uncomfortable, I'm not sure the airline will even let you go.

With my 3rd, I'd be afraid to go anywhere after 30 weeks. With my first 2, I was ok with anywhere up to 34 weeks.

Most of the airlines have restrictions on this...I would check

Personally I would not fly 3 weeks before my due date. I was 10 days early with my first and who know what could happen this time

Mine OB said 36 weeks. I went to CA when I was like 20something weeks and I swelled sooo bad that I couldn't imagine travelling that late.

I flew at 36 weeks cross country. I had no issues, I just got up a lot to walk around. I would fly even later if I had to.

Most airlines do NOT have strict guidelines when it comes to pregnancy and flying.

thanks girls.. wow honestly I didnt even realize its kinda crazy for me to fly then. I have only done it once while pregnant and then was when I was earlier on in the 2nd trimester. I guess no Miami for me.
