for us old folk who need progressive eyeglass lenses
If I buy a pair of glasses with progessive lenses is that the pair I will want to wear all the time? Once I adjust will I still want to go back and forth to glasses that are for only in my distance prescription or only my computer one? I say computer b/c that is more of an issue for me than close up reading. I don't want to buy progressives and never use the glasses I already have. I bought 2 expensive pairs in my computer prescription last year and both are still good. I hate my current distance glasses, though, so I need new ones and I really need a good pair of sunglasses for distance.

Re: for us old folk who need progressive eyeglass lenses
I just started needing glasses for distance this winter. I have been wearing reading glasses for awhile. When I first got the progressives, I swore I would never get used to them, and would continue to wear my other glasses for the computer and reading. All of a sudden, I got used to the glasses, and now I rarely ever use just the reading glasses. Not having to switch the glasses is a pleasure. I got a really good deal on the progressives at BJs.

Re: for us old folk who need progressive eyeglass lenses
UPDATE: It was a very easy adjustment but I feel very aware of the few things that are not good with progressives, such as peripheral vision. I think that in the long run it will have been easier to have started using them when my presciption was mild. I can't imagine getting used to this with very strong prescriptions at each level.
I think I will be fine going back and forth to my other glasses and I still plan to get distance only sunglasses. I just hope I don't regret that when I want to read on the beach.
