for those who were induced
did anyone not need pictocin and progressed (started labor on their own) with just the cervidil?
my BFF is being induced tomorrow night and just trying to think ahead on various possibilities. She was really hoping to go into labor on her (and I guess there is still time) and hoping for as few as drugs as possible. I did read some posts on baby center of people who didn't need more than the cervidil and just thought i'd ask here as well.
Thanks!

I had two rounds of cervadil and then one round of the pill (also forgot what it is called!) and still needed pitocin.
I wanted a natural birth and had the complete opposite!

Re: for those who were induced
Yes, twice. I was given cervadil and started progressing on my own with both of my labors. Never needed pitocin.

Re: for those who were induced
I had my water broken instead of getting cervadil and progressed enough to go without pitocin or any drugs, which was what I wanted. It's totally possible!
ETA: Why is she being induced? Unless there's something wrong, she can ask to wait.

She is being induced because she is past her due date and she really wants to be delivered by her doctor vs someone else in the practice and if she waited she'd end up running into the holiday week

Re: for those who were induced
I was induced with only Pitocin, no cervadil, and it took very little. I also had no epidural so it was just the pitocin.

Re: for those who were induced
I was induced and put straight on pitocin because i was already dilated 2cm for about a week, which is why i didnt need cervadil. My dr. broke my water, and labor progressed shortly after that.

I had 2 (i think) rounds of cytotec, and then pitocin. No cervadil. I did progress all the way to 10 cm but ended up with a c/s.

Re: for those who were induced
Yup. I was given cervadil around 9 pm and I was in labor within a couple of hours. My water broke on its own around 5 am (the cervadil was flushed out at that point) and I had the baby before 9:30 am. They originally told me that it would take 12 hours to work and I'd probably have the baby the following evening. They even offered me ambien to get a good night sleep (didn't take it). That was definitely not the case for me!
ETA: And I was only dilated about 1 cm when I went in for the induction at 9 days late.
