football question
this is a gift in the making and i need a little help.
i would LOVE to give SO a multi-year christmas gift that can start a new tradition between us but i need help putting it together and i might not even be able to start it now.
SO is a die-hard Raiders fan. i thought it could be an amazing gift to buy a pair of tickets to a raiders game... in different stadiums. one pair of tickets each year. this can then turn into a mini-vacation/getaway.
now, all i know about football is that you have to get the ball from here to there and wait for the guys in the striped shirts to raise their hands
so... my question to you is, how many stadiums are there? does each team get to play every other team in the league? but there aren't enough weeks in the season for that to happen, so how long before a team does a full "rotation" of playing in every other stadium? how many years can i expect this to go on? is it too late in the season to buy a pair of tickets for this season?
then there are follow up questions: how do i present this? how can i keep track of where we've been? a map?
help teach me about football

Re: football question
Use this link: NFL Schedule to see the full NFL schedule. You can see what teams play who and what stadium they are playing in. It should help you get started with figuring out who plays who and where.
Sounds like a fun gift!!!!

I think it's a great gift! We do something similar with baseball, but base it on the stadium rather than the team.

So every year the Raiders will play one home and one away game against teams in their division - The Broncos, the Chiefs & The Chargers
Then they will play every team in the AFC over the course of 3 years - they will play one division each year (2 home games and 2 away games).
Then they will play every team in the NFC over the course of 4 years (2 home games and 2 away). Not sure how they determine the H vs. Away.
they also will play some additional conference games based on how they finish the previous year!
there are 32 teams - 31 stadiums so far, since the Jets and Giants share.
It is likely that the Raiders and another team will move to LA so they will probably share a stadium as well.
