Food Reaction
I started DD on sweet potatoes on Friday morning. She loved them and didn't appear to have any reaction. Then, yesterday morning her face was all blotchy, but no where else on her body. We thought it might be my one of my ILs' perfumes or whatever since they watched DD while we were at a wedding Friday night. So, DD had sw pots yesterday evening and again this morning and now her face is blotchy. Should I just assume that they are the culprit? Wouldn't it be all over her body instead of just her face?

Re: Food Reaction
I could be wrong, but I thought food allergies started on the trunk, not the face?
DS is allergic to bananas and he never got hives on his face, just his stomach and back.

Re: Food Reaction
It could be a food reaction. When Ryan had eggs and peanut butter for the first time, he broke out in a rash on his face immediately.

It didn't happen immediately so I don't know what to think. The first time it was almost 24 hours later and this time maybe 4 hours later. Today it has been off and on all day. I have no idea what to make of it.

Re: Food Reaction
Elizabeth is allergic to sweet potatoes. She didn't get a rash the first 2 days, but the 3rd and 4th day she did... all over her body and also her excema on the side of her face and her cradle cap which had both been going away flared up again too.

I just gave her a bath and noticed her eczema behind her knees was really red but it wasn't earlier today. I thnk I may just go back to straight oatmeal for a few days and then try something different. This was our first veggie/fruit so hopefully something else works soon!

it varies - you can have a local reaction on the face without having a reaction on the body.
i agree with your plan, cut out the sweet potatoes and go back to the stuff that wasn't affecting the baby. when the rash is cleared up, try a different food (bananas and avocados are other great first foods).
