Food question
Can I eat brie if it's cooked?
My sister is making her famous apple and brie in filo dough for easter and she serves it hot. Can I eat it? Please say yes.

Re: Food question
I say yes. I thought the whole reasoning was because of the risk of bacteria in the cheese, so if it's heated it would be killed.
ENJOY IT!!!!

Re: Food question
If it is baked, it is fine. The high temp from the oven kills any bacteria.
ENJOY!!

Re: Food question
Most cheese is made with pasteurized milk now, so if it is, its considered safe...check the label

Re: Food question
You can eat it if it's heated high enough in the oven...heat kills Listeria. I ate a bunch of non-pasteurized fresh mozzarella that was baked in macaroni and cheese by accident once...I freaked out for a while. My OB told me it was probably okay because it was cooked, but he told me in the future not to do it again.
